For memories worth sharing, Nikon introduces new high zoom and Wi-Fi enabled COOLPIX cameras (29.01.2013)

Nikon Europe today boosts its COOLPIX range with three new compact cameras, including two high zoom options and two models with built-in wireless image transfer for instant image uploading to a compatible smart device. The 18-megapixel S9500 with Wi-Fi offers an incredible 22x optical zoom, a 7.5-cm (3.0-in.) OLED screen and built-in GPS. The 16-megapixel S5200 with Wi-Fi has a NIKKOR wide-angle 6x zoom lens and a high-resolution (460k dots), 7.5 cm (3.0-in.) LCD screen. Finally, the 18-megapixel S9400 packs in an 18x optical zoom NIKKOR lens and 7.5-cm (3.0-in.) OLED screen. All models feature a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, lens-shift vibration reduction and Full HD (1080p) movie recording.

All three cameras guarantee better pictures than what is possible with a smartphone, because in addition to the excellent image quality you would expect, they have optical zoom, which actually brings an object closer in your image, rather than with digital zoom wherein a portion of the image is made larger.”

The pocket-size, 16-megapixel COOLPIX S5200 with built-in Wi-Fi lets you capture and share magic moments on the spot. Whether it’s a family birthday, or a fun night out on the town, the S5200 easily transfers images and movies to your smart device* ready for uploading and sharing with others.

The high-resolution, 7.5 cm (3.0-in.) LCD screen offers sharp contrast and clear viewing, while the 16-megapixel CMOS sensor delivers outstanding images in low light. The NIKKOR 6x optical zoom makes group shots or close-ups easy and lens-shift vibration reduction compensates for camera shake in real time, producing crisp photos and movies in any situation. When the moment warrants filming, the S5200 can switch to Full HD video recording instantly at the touch of a dedicated button.

The S9400 – Compact, feature-rich performance

Super slim and super zoom, great for big events and more impromptu moments, the S9400 boasts an 18x NIKKOR lens that can capture everything, along with an impressive 7.5-cm (3.0-in.) OLED screen, optical lens-shift vibration reduction and Full HD movie recording.

For budding movie-makers, the S9400 has some fantastic features for filming, including the ability to pause and then continue during filming, and create one single movie file at the end, for smooth playback. The optical zoom with autofocus can be used when filming and you can record in iFrame format. To view movies on a bigger screen, simply connect the camera directly to an HDTV using the built-in HDMI connector.
