AF-S DX Micro 40mm f/2.8G MACRO LENS FOR A GOOD PRICE THAT IS SUITABLE IN MANY DIFFERENT SHOOTING SITUATIONS (08.07.2015)
AF-S DX Micro 40mm f/2.8G is a macro lens especially constructed for half frame sensor camera – it is perfect for Nikon D3000, D5000 and D7000 series DSLR cameras.
This lens meant for macro shooting is mostly the interest of nature photographers but it can actually be used in way more situations than first thought. The specificity of macro lenses is that it is possible to focus from closer than usual. The focal length of the lens rather refers to a wide angle but taking into consideration that you are using it in front of a half frame camera, the actual angle of this lens corresponds to the one of 60mm focal length lens. That is why, this lens is a perfect combination of a wider angle, opportunity to focus the subject even from a few centimetre distance and light powered optical elements (aperture f/2.8) – this lens can be used in many different situations.
I would recommend this lens to those who are interested in photographing food. This lens is meant for that! You can shoot from close and at the same time, the background is also captured in the frame. If you use a more opened aperture, the background is left nicely unsharp. This lens transmits the natural colours and the subject is remarkably sharp. It is also a good lens for photographing jewellery and details. Of course, also flowers, different small details, textures and small objects.
For photographing butterflies and shy insects, a lens with a longer focal length is more suitable because butterflies do not let the photographer very close.
You can use this lens for taking portraits (people or pets) and why not, for taking landscape photos. With this lens, it is possible to leave the background behind the subject unsharp and bring out the subject and lose the interfering subjects on the background. Thus, this lens is a lot more universal than first thought.
