Nikon today announces the new Android OS (version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean) powered COOLPIX S810c – the compact camera designed to make life even more social. With improved image quality and enhanced functionality, it offers fantastic photography features and connects to the Internet so you can access your favourite social media channels and gaming apps from Google PlayTM.
A significant improvement on its predecessor, the camera takes you closer to the action with its impressive 12x NIKKOR optical zoom lens, doubling to 24x Dynamic Fine Zoom2 for finer detail. Its sensitive back-illuminated 16-megapixel CMOS sensor captures great shots as well as Full HD movies, even in low light conditions like when you are indoors, and its built-in Wi-Fi means you can instantly share your efforts on social media.
With a wider 9.4cm (3.7in) LCD touch screen than the previous model, operating the camera is easier than ever. The sensitive high-resolution 1229k-dot screen means scrolling through your photos, browsing social media sites or playing games in your camera is simple and fun. Plus, you can enjoy your camera for longer. The prolonged battery life gives you the power to keep shooting, and you can even carry-on using the camera while the battery is charging through the micro USB port.
Connected communities
With its Android operating system, the COOLPIX S810c gives you instant access to Google+TM so you can connect with your friends and family and join communities directly from your camera. Not only can you share your images with others but, if the 20GB of free storage available through the pre-installed Nikon Image Space isn’t enough, you can access the Google DriveTM cloud service for unlimited space for low-res photos and 15GB of free storage for larger files.
Looking to bring extra creativity to your shots? The Google+ PhotosTM editing service lets you retouch your shots and enhance your pictures with filters.
Fun and Functional
Doing the hard work for you, the COOLPIX S810c offers enhanced stability with its Hybrid VR (vibration reduction) to produce more precise images by reducing camera shake. Its Target Finding autofocus automatically identifies and focuses your subject – even if it’s fast moving – and together with blur reduction also contributes to sharper shots, making your images worth sharing.
For added image fun, it is easy to download photo retouch apps like Snapseed for perfect photos every time, or apply one of the 11 different in-built special effects while you shoot for extra creativity. Once you’re happy with your work, you can also add comments or captions before sharing it with the world.
As ideal for social media enthusiasts and gaming fans as photography lovers, the camera’s headphone output has been conveniently placed for you to enjoy privacy and better sound quality from all your downloaded games, apps and music.
