In Lapland with compact camera (10.03.2014)
Is it possible that the photographer goes camping and photographing without a DSLR camera and only grabs along a small compact camera?
Nikon Coolpix A is a compact camera that has a heart of the DLSR camera and a soul of an old rangefinder camera. If you attach an optical viewfinder to the camera, you get a very stylish retro look to it as well.
Nikon A is very fast and logical for a compact camera. Its design principles of two disks and also the menu structure originate from DSLR camera.
The image sensor in the camera is the same as in Nikon D7100 DSLR cameras. Thus, this big sensor has great photo quality that from the photo aesthetic point of view gives all the opportunities that DSLR cameras offer.
The most special part of the Nikon A is definitely the lens. Designed specially for Nikon A and optimized fixed-lens offers sharpness and figures that are comparable to the best DSLR cameras' fixed-lenses. It is important to remember that you are dealing with the wide angle that sets some limits but offers wonderful photo quality.

16.2MP CMOS sensor
(28mm equivalent) F2.8 fixed-lens
